A very simple and mindful breathing and meditation technique that was developed by Andrew Weil, M.D is 4-7-8 breathing. This has been developed based on our yoga and pranayama practices. This simple breathing can give an instant calm within us and relieve us from stress.
To connect with me your inner Bodhi, this is very helpful. Just make this a daily habit, sit with yourself and notice your breathe.
Bodhi Says
Sit down calmly in a comfortable place
Relax
Start to inhale for 4 seconds through your nose
Hold your breathe for 7 seconds
Exhale through your mouth for 8 seconds
Repeat this for 5 times as a set and do as many sets as possible
Intially when we start doing this we might not be able to see much of a difference, but with regular practice we can attain a huge set of benefits.
It can instantly put you to sleep.
It gives more oxygen to the body thereby improving the health of the internal parts.
It relieves stress and helps manage our emotions.
It helps in attaining a overall calm inside.
Here is a secret for you, calming the mind is a big challenge but when we are working together, it is easily doable… just trust me and try this out.
Bodhi Says
While trying to do this we will realize how much we naturally breathe. Inhaling holding and exhaling might seem like a lot of time, but it is required for us.
Hope you enjoyed this short blog and would try doing this breathing. Happy living 🙂
